“How did it get so late so soon?
Its night before its afternoon.
December is here before its June.
My goodness how the time has flewn.
How did it get so late so soon?” - Dr. Seuss
“Oh, what a night, late December back in ’63,
What a very special time for me. As I remember, what a night!”

It’s
been a good summer, old friends visiting from far away. One of my
earliest bandmates, Uldis Fogels, a songwriter who wrote such fine lines
as “I started out, same as anyone, with my hands in my pockets and my
eyes on the sun,” came to visit. He flew down from Barry, Ontario,
Canada, and we had a great time catching up with several old friends.
Uldis lived in Camp Meeker, Sonoma County, for a number of years (see
picture of the old US Post Office, now replaced), so we had a “coming
home” party for him.

with her beautiful original song, “Wind in the Oak,” [from our CD,
Wings of the Morning] and a swinging revival of the Jon Hendricks,
Cannonball Adderley song “Sermonette.” Dave got ‘em rockin’ too with
Stevie Wonder’s “Have a Talk With God.” It was great to do these tunes
with a drummer, Larry Curtin. See pic of Dave seated at their beautiful
grand piano.

We totally enjoyed our gigs down south, and the chance to visit with folks. It was great to see Shelley Ross, Ed Pearl and Jeff Landau among many others at our Coffee Gallery gig. Steve Strickland shared his wonderful photos (see the one of Shelley meeting Ed). The freeways may be full of madness and collisions, but the musicians continue to fill the air with beauty and song.
Many of us had the opportunity to hear each other’s music at the three or four stages placed around the property. We enjoyed hearing

We are happy with the success of our Pacific Northwest tour in May. Joel Tepp, a great musician, who has gained his experience playing with

We’re getting ready to head out on the road to the Pacific Northwest, excited to return to one of our favorite regions to perform in. Our itinerary is at the bottom of this newsletter: Friday, May 8 at Imagine Coffee in Corvallis; Saturday, May 9 at Soulfood Coffeehouse in Redmond, WA,
Dave Holt as they pass through on their Northwest tour. If you got to see them at the Summit center when they last passed through, you know what fun and talented musicians and poets they are. If you didn't, you have a surprise treat in store.”
