June, When All of God’s Own Wildflowers Bloom …

June, When All of God’s Own Wildflowers Bloom …

“It’s beautiful the Summer month of June
When all of God’s own wildflowers are in bloom
And sun shines brightly most part of the day
And butterflies o’er lush green meadows play.” (Francis Duggan, June)

“Since the return from her stay on the moon,
she listens like spring and she talks like June, hey, hey.”
(Drops of Jupiter, by Train)

Hello Friends and Family,
We are happy with the success of our Pacific Northwest tour in May. Highlights were: Imagine Coffee with Karl Smiley and their great food; the warm reception from our wonderful host Stone Jones and the enthusiastic crowd at Cabin Tavern, Bellingham; a successful house concert in Portland, OR, at Janet Orjala’s lovely home; the charming room and friendly staff at SoulFood Coffee House. Joel Tepp, a great musician, who has gained his experience playing with Bonnie Raitt, Little Feat, and Danny O’Keefe, played harmonica/clarinet/slide guitar with us at Egan’s Ballard Jam House in Seattle. What a great addition to our set!

This coming Saturday, June 13th, at 7 pm, Chappell & Dave Holt return to the Frank Bette Center for the Arts, 1601 Paru St., Alameda, CA, for an evening of poetry and song hosted by Jeanne Lupton. This is the first event in the book launch of Dave’s new chapbook, “I Heard the Mountain’s Voice Singing.” It features cover painting, “The Ever Unfolding,” by Beth Anderson of Occidental, and photographs by Chappell Holt.

We are looking forward to the Mother Hen Promotions Fundraiser on Saturday, June 27th, at Mighty Fine Guitars . Doors open 7:30pm and the music begins at 8pm.Mother Hen Promotions Fundraiser for FAR-West 2015 features four great acts for one admission, Doug Adamz MusicThe Keller SistersChappell & Dave Holt, and Bill Amatneek's Acoustic Stories. $15.-$20, cash donation at the door, well, host Stevie Coyle usually passes the top hat at break. Hey, folks in Los Angeles area, look for us to visit July 16. We’ll be at Coffee Gallery Backstage in Altadena, CA, with the great Severin Browne (more details later).

We’re still charting! In fact, this is the highest point we’ve reached on the Roots Music Americana Country report yet. On KC Café Radio, you may request up to 2 songs per hour, no more than 10 songs per day. If an artist you request has already played within the last two hours, your request will not be honored, and will appear in the search results with a Song not requestable icon icon. Click the “request” button associated with the selection you would like to hear. Your selection should then play sometime over the course of the next hour.

If you’d like to order our new CD, Stone & Fire, directly please send a $17 check (includes $2 shipping) payable to Dave Holt to 1335 Kenwal Rd., #A, Concord, CA 94521. You can also purchase downloads of Wings of the Morning at CD Baby andStone & Fire also at CD Baby.
